MOFFETT VINEYARD - ESTATE
1988 was a big drought year and didnt allow for a good
bud set, smallest crop since 1984. Early September got really
hot, 10+ days in a row of over 100 degree heat turned a lot
of the already small berries into raisins. People were picking
as quickly as they could. The Moffett Vineyard was picked
on September 19th.
Intensely rich, smooth wine with ripe currant and plum flavors.
Has complex cedary, spicy vanilla and blackberry overtones
with a long finish, fine balance and firm tannins.
